Tips on Using Your Sauna

Is the Far Infrared Sauna safe? Yes. The Solarus Sauna emitters are made of Zirconium tubes (naturally occuring element) filled with Crystal and silica (naturally occuring minerals). You can even put your hand on the protective grill. The Far Infrared emissions from the heaters are the same as the wave length of warmth of our human bodies (which are Far Infrared). This gentle soothing heat is 1/2 that of a conventional sauna and is safe even for heart patients and children!

How long should I stay in my sauna? A typical session is at least 1/2 hour. If you are new to the Far Infrared Sauna you will want to begin gradually. A general rule would be to begin at 100 or 110 degrees F. for a short period, say 10 or 15 minutes at first. You can increase the temperature a few degrees and the time a few minutes over your next sessions, over a 2 week period, until you have reached 120 degees F. and 30 minutes. After that you can stay in as long as you like. Studies have shown that the most benefit is obtained at 115 – 120 degrees F. for 45 minutes or longer. Remember that it has taken a lifetime to accumulate your toxic load…and it will take some years to gently cleanse your body, using this wonderful technology as ofetn as you can (minimum 4 times/week for the first year or so).

Can I lie down in my sauna? Unlike a regular sauna which is hot air heating your skin, you must make your body available to these radiant wave lengths by sitting up in front of the emitters. If you lie down, the waves will miss your body!
